Hitachi Energy delivers grid technology that supplies more than three billion people worldwide. We are now looking for an OT / SCADA Engineer to join our HVDC team in Ludvika.

As an OT / SCADA Engineer, the role involves designing, configuring, and commissioning control and monitoring systems in HVDC installations and test environments. The work ensures stable and secure communication, data collection, and monitoring in critical systems with high availability requirements. The role collaborates closely with automation, network, and system engineers as well as site teams in international projects, where your solutions are implemented in real installations.

How you will contribute

  • Designing and configuring SCADA and HMI systems
  • Integrating OT systems with control and protection systems
  • Configuring communication protocols (for example IEC 61850, Modbus, IEC 101, IEC 104)
  • Troubleshooting and verification in lab, workshop, and site environments
  • Participating in tests, FAT/SAT, and commissioning
  • Documenting system solutions and configurations, and collaborating with network, automation, and system engineers

Your background

  • A university degree in Engineering or equivalent experience from a comparable role
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working with SCADA, DCS, or industrial control systems
  • Solid understanding of OT environments and industrial communication
  • Knowledge of IEC 61850, protection relays, or power systems
  • Good command of English

Meritorious

  • Experience from the energy sector or critical infrastructure
  • Experience in cybersecurity in OT environments
  • Experience with site work and commissioning
  • Swedish language skills
